💼 About the Role

At Qargo, our mobile app is a critical part of how logistics operations run on the ground. Drivers across Europe and beyond rely on the Qargo mobile app every day to pick up jobs, update delivery statuses, capture signatures, and stay in sync with their planners in real time, from their truck. To streamline operations, transport companies often use a cross dock. This is a facility where goods from various suppliers are unloaded from inbound trucks, sorted, and loaded onto outbound trucks for delivery. Warehouse operators use the Qargo mobile app's cross dock scanning functionality to track each pallet movement, so planners know exactly where every pallet is.

As a Mobile Engineer, you will play a key role in building and evolving this React Native application across iOS and Android. Your work will directly affect the daily experience of thousands of drivers, and the efficiency of the transport companies that depend on them.

You'll collaborate closely with our product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate real-world logistics challenges into polished, reliable mobile experiences. This role offers a strong mix of hands-on engineering and ownership, with plenty of room to influence mobile architecture and product direction within our Frontend team.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• You'll design and build cross-platform (iOS & Android) features in our React Native & Expo codebase, used daily by drivers across Europe.

• You'll work with TypeScript and interact with our GraphQL API (Hasura), as well as Firebase/Firestore for real-time data flows.

• You'll craft intuitive, reliable mobile experiences, from stop completion flows and document capture to real-time status updates and offline resilience.

• You'll optimise app performance and implement best practices to ensure a smooth experience in the field, where connectivity isn't always guaranteed.

• You'll be part of a driven and talented Frontend team with a strong track record and a high engineering bar.

• You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve real-world challenges and continuously improve the product.

• You'll make a real impact and improving efficiency and sustainability in the logistics industry through software that drivers genuinely depend on.

✅ Skills & Experience

• You have a Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience, and at least 2 years of experience in mobile development.

• You have solid, hands-on experience with React Native and Expo, and have shipped production apps to both the App Store and Google Play.

• You're comfortable writing clean, typed TypeScript and have a good grasp of component-based architecture and state management.

• You're familiar with GraphQL and working with API-driven mobile apps.

• You have a passion for solving complex technical challenges and a pragmatic approach to technical trade-offs.

• You have a user-first mentality — you care about the experience of the person using your app, not just the code behind it.

• You bring strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• You have a growth mindset — eager to learn, experiment, and expand your knowledge as the product evolves.

Nice to have:

• Mobile-first design experience
